AISECT - The Foundation of Dr. C.V.Raman University

Established in 1985, today, AISECT is India's largest Education, Training, Skill Development, Services and e-Governance Network with a Pan-India presence of over 23,000 centres across 29 States and 3 Union Territories in the country. AISECT's mission is to reach out to the remotest corners of India and promote ICT based training and services to empower people, generate employment for the youth and unfold entrepreneurship based initiatives to create an inclusive society. AISECT has till date, transformed the lives of over 19 lakh students by being a host of skill enhancement programmes and generated over 15,000 rural entrepreneurs in the country. AISECT is primarily engaged in the areas of skill development and training, development of models and teaching methodologies to strengthen the non-formal education sector, services dissemination across semi-urban and rural India and execution of large e-Governance projects for the Central and State governments, all of which are aimed at achieving an objective of addressing the skill gaps pertinent to the emerging needs of a rapidly growing economy. AISECT is the recipient of several prestigious awards at National and International Platforms. AISECT has been conferred accolades by the World Bank in its pilot study conducted with IIM-Ahmedabad, where it has been recognized as the most scalable and sustainable for ICT penetration in rural India. It has been awarded the Golden Icon in National e-Governance Award 2005, Indian Innovation Award 2005, i4D Award 2007, NASSCOM IT Innovation Award 2006, NASSCOM Emerge 50 Leader Award 2009, TIE Lumis Partners Entrepreneurial Excellence Award 2009, Schwab Foundation's Social Entrepreneur Award 2010, CSI Award for Excellence in IT Award 2011, Best ICT Initiative in Financial Inclusion e-Gov.
